Matt’s Place Community Meals Program

People experiencing economic hardship or social isolation are welcome to enjoy the comforts of a home-cooked meal and friendship at Matt’s Place Community Meals program in Cheltenham and Chelsea.

Matt’s Place, open every Tuesday and Thursday, provides warm hospitality for those looking to connect with others.  Guests can enjoy a delicious two-course meal and an opportunity to connect and socially interact with other community members.

Both Cheltenham and Chelsea programs have joined the Chatty Cafe scheme and open an hour before the meal is served for patrons to enjoy morning tea and a chat. Arrival times are Chelsea 10.45 am, and Cheltenham at 10.30 am.

Take-away meals are also available for guests who cannot dine in.

Allied health services such as hearing checks, dental checks, and vaccinations are provided at various times during the year. Hair Aid volunteers also provide free haircuts every six weeks.

Matt’s Place is part of the Chatty Cafe Scheme, promoting social connectedness and community engagement.
